New Year usually starts with your new and fresh intentions. It is perfect timing to create clean start mentally, physically, and spiritually.
It is time to let go of the “old you”. You should silently honor what has been has done in the year passing, and what experience and lessons it brought to you. You just need to say – “Thank you”.
And now, as the year began, you should push forward by feeling refreshed and renewed in any way. You can do these simple fresh start rituals that will clear your aura and give you a brand new start.
If you do some research why burning ritual is used throughout centuries and many ancient civilizations, you will find that it symbolizes letting go of the negativity built within passing year.
Each culture has it’s own ritual of doing it, but the symbolism is the same wherever you go in the world. What you should do?

Sweet grass is the sacred hair of Mother Earth. It’s sweet aroma reminds people of the gentleness, love and kindness she has for the people.
This is why Native people pick it and braid it in 3 strands representing love, kindness and honesty. Sweet grass is used for smudging and purification of the spirit.
When Sweet grass is used in a healing or talking circle it has a calming effect. It is said that it attracts the good Spirit, so use it to call in the Spirit.
Cedar Protects From Negative Energy
Cedar is used to purify the home and it also has many restorative medicinal use. When mixed with sage for a tea, it cleans the body of all infections. Cedar baths are also very healing.
When cedar mixed with tobacco is put in fire – it crackles. This is said to call the attention of the Spirits to the offering that is being made.
Cedar is used in sweat lodge and fasting ceremonies for protection. Cedar branches cover the floor of many sweat lodges and some people make a circle of cedar when they are fasting.
It is a guardian spirit and chases away the bad spirits.

Palo santo wood is derived from specific trees found in the South American rain forests of Galapagos Islands, Ecuador and Peru, and has been used for most of known history for a variety of healing including medicines, native ceremonies and, especially in Incan culture, spiritual clearing of a space, crowd or person.
