What Is Overheating
While hanging on the sun and playing on the beach all day long we are overheating, we don’t pay much attention to it.
We usually do when its too late and we almost faint out of dehydration.

It is dangerous because it is causing dehydration, as your body loses large amounts of water, in effort to regulate your body temperature.
It will cause your heart rate go up, as blood flow is rushing to the surface of your skin, and this can lead to possible dangerous situation for your heart, especially if you have history of coronary diseases.
This whole overheating situation is so delicate, that imposes your nerve cells in your brain and throughout your body at risk, leading to confusion, memory impairment and even loss of consciousness.
There are few warning signs that people should pay attention to.
First of them is dizziness.
Delicate nerve tissues in the brain are heated up, and headaches, confusion, mental lethargy and dizziness occur almost instantly.
You may begin to feel nauseous and unable to move.
First aid measure is to get into the shades as quickly as possible, and drink plenty of water to settle your temperature down.
If there is a near by cafe, go inside and do the same, so you can cool off instantly.
While being overheated, you’ll start noticing heavily sweat around your neck. Your body will try to cool down by producing more sweat, but here lies the problem.
You’ll get easily dehydrated if you don’t replenish those body fluids immediately. If you don’t drink fluids, and you are still sweating, you may become a victim of a heat stroke.
Most commonly, heat rashes occur more at infants, rather than adults, but if you notice anything like it on your body – set the alarm on.

If you wear heavy clothes during a hot day, heat rashes might occur if sweat gets trapped under the skin, causing it to get inflamed and swollen, with red bumps all over.
That is why it is always recommended to wear light clothes so your body can draft underneath.
Doing beach activities can cause overheating if you don’t pay much attention. Another sign that you are heat exhausted are muscle cramps.
They typically begin suddenly in the hands, calves or feet.
They are one of the earliest signs that you need to hit the shades quickly and cool off.
This usually happens to people who are staying outside in hot and humid weather, and who are already dehydrated and deficient in electrolytes lost through sweating.
If this happens to you, try to sit down in a cool spot, and gently stretch your legs until the tingling goes away.
There are many risk factors involved, and these are the most common ones.
If you are consuming alcohol on a hot day, you may accelerate dehydration, which in return will rise your body temperature. This often happens when people are gathering over barbecues or concerts, and they don’t pay much attention.
Alcohol will totally dry you out, making you sweat like hell, if you are not taking any water to neutralize the process.
It is always better to reach for a glass of water to cool down, rather than beer or glass of wine on a hot day.
Spending Too Much Time Outdoors
When you are on a vacation, you often forget about how much time you are exposed to the sun. You are all day long at the beach having all sorts of activities, and it is so much fun, you don’t feel your exposure at all.
Exercising or performing various physical activities in the heat, can lead to elevations in body temperature, and especially if the individual isn’t properly hydrated.
If you can’t help yourself being outdoors all day, at least follow athletes rule: for every pound they lose, they take 2 cups of water to restore.
You’ve Reached Certain Age Group
As you are getting older, heat will be more unbearable to you.
The fact is that, older people are exposed to higher risks coming from overheating, as aging body has more difficulty to regulate its internal temperature.
If you have reached over 55, you may need to pay more attention to the early overheating signs and act on time.
You Are Under Medication
Have you ever noticed that while reading the manual for a medication, it is usually recommended you shouldn’t be exposed to heat?
It is so, because the heat can influence the prescription drug you may take. If you’re finding yourself getting worn out faster than usually, you can ask your doctor to get you off some medications while warmest season is in session.
