When It Is The Best Workout Time?
Finding the perfect workout time is a matter of personal preference. Some are awake at crack of dawn starting their morning exercising routine, while others do it before – or in the afternoon. Exercising should be about feeling good and having tight muscles while exercising won’t do here.
Many people find time for morning activities since it fits in their lifestyle, while others do it in the afternoon hours. If you hold on to a specific workout time, it can result with better exercise performance, better oxygen consumption and lower body exhaustion.
So,when to schedule your workout?
The core temperature of your body is an important factor for determining the quality of exercise. A cold body leaves stiff and inefficient muscles, and they easily become susceptible to injury, whereas higher body temperatures leave muscles more flexible in the workout segment.
The body temperature usually increases throughout the day, therefore, the muscle strength and endurance may peak in the late afternoon, when the body temperature is at it’s highest.
In the afternoon the reaction time is quick, while the heart rate and blood pressure are at their lowest. This favorable combination leads in improvement of exercise performance and reduce the overall possibility of injuries.
Hormone levels are also playing a big role in determining which is optimal time for workout. Testosterone is important for muscle growth and strength, in both genders : man and women.
The body produces more testosterone during late afternoon resistance training, than it does during morning workouts.
In addition to this, the stress hormone cortisol peaks in the morning and decreases throughout the day and during exercise. This doesn’t mean that morning workouts cannot be successful as well.
Morning workouts might be a good option for stress-free release, and it is easier to keep the workout routine more consistent. Since exercise increases heart rate and body temperature, working out too late in the evening (after 8 p.m.) may cause sleep disruption, while working out at 7 a.m. may help people sleep more peacefully at night.
Which Time is Convenient For You?
Well, it depends on your daily obligations. Some have time in the morning, some at the afternoon. You should find a more realistic and consistent workout schedule, no matter the time.
If working out in the morning is best for you – then do it! Just make sure you warm up those cold and tight muscles from sleep if you want to avoid any possible injuries.
Regarding afternoon workout schedules – you better find a workout buddy or personal trainer to work with, since it is so easy to skip and make an excuse.
