Well, here it comes again – one more Christmas to look forward to…December has arrived in its full winter splendor and brought all that Christmas joy we were waiting for.
Eventually, we need to ask ourselves do we still remember what is the real meaning of Christmas, or it has been forgotten already?
Is it for the gifts under the tree?
Or the lights sparkling on our windows and front yards… or the wishing well cards cards lying in the mail boxes. Maybe dinner with family and friends, and stockings hanging on the fireplace ?
Is this all Christmas stands for?
Of course not.
Christmas suppose to be a season of great joy, and a time of God showing His great love for us.
But, don’t forget… for many, it can be a time of deep sorrow…
Maybe they are not so financially blessed and don’t have that extra money to buy presents for their children, family or friends.
Many are sad at Christmas time when they draw upon memories of the loved ones who are not present in this life anymore, or think of their loved ones who will not be able to come home for celebration for various reasons…yet…
Is Christmas Soul Uplifting Forgotten
Christmas is supposed to be the time of the year when we celebrate the birth of our Christ, but, unfortunately, it has become a commercial holiday, rather than a religious one.
Yes, we all DO live in modern consumption societies where profit is more important than pure soul searching.
Today, it is mostly known as a time for businesses to make an extra dollar, for people to give gifts, for the parties – you name it.
And you know what?
The main “reason for the season” is supposed to be about Jesus – not for the gifts and not only for the parties.
Of course, having celebration and attending to parties is not wrong thing to do.
Don’t get us wrong.
It’s just that the meaning of Christmas is supposed to be a recognition and appreciation of the birth of the ONE, and as we are getting older, we realize there’s more to it than pure presents exchange.
It should be time of true meaningful gatherings, remembering why we ARE and why we NEED to embrace LOVE and SHARING as our guiding stars.
We should all become truly generous givers, sharing love among each other, and means to those who are in great need.
THAT should be the true spirit of Christmas!
Celebrating the ESSENCE of life.
“More blessed to give than to receive”- said Jesus.
How To Remember The True Meaning Of Christmas
Light A Candle
Start with lighting candles.
Because the constantly burning flame is a potent symbol of life – a pure symbolism of holding back the darkness.
On the first Sunday of Advent, some people carry home a taper that has been lit from their church’s Advent candle. They keep it burning until Christmas Day, using a series of candles.
It is good keep your Christmas flame on the table during family meals, and you might want to follow the tradition of lighting three more candles — one for each week of Advent until Christmas comes.
Make something as a worthy cause.
Make a donation to an organization you would like to support.
Become a true giver and feel the blessing.
Give Useful Gifts
When you are buying gifts, make them useful to be. Don’t just buy them randomly.
There are so many original ideas to choose from, and please make someone happy with an original and useful gift.
See and feel the difference.
Say Goodbye To Your Past And Hello To Your Future
Put your past behind you.
Unload your shoulders and feel the easiness coming.
Look forward to the future and welcome it with a smile, as past is long time gone, and future awaits for you.
Welcome new opportunities.
Read Meaningful Books Or Watch Meaningful Movies
It is how you’ll put yourself a bit “down to earth”.
Being grounded and aware, is the best thing you can do for yourself and others.
It is so good to give your kids to read meaningful books, or to watch together meaningful movies – so you can talk it over later, and have a discussion of what was the point of the movie, or the book.
You’ll give them such good lessons and free and open their little minds.
Christmas Eve-Keep It Simple
When keeping it simple, you do not over-stress about the food menu.
You can do Christmas arrangements with a little help from your friends or family members. Each can bring along their favorite food so everyone’s taste will be satisfied.
Remember – keep it simple.
Going To Church
This is something you don’t wanna skip.
Go to the nearest church as it is the place where you’ll get reminded what Christmas really stands for – LOVE!
