1.LT Can Make You Sick – How?
Over tine, grime accumulates on your LT and it often goes unnoticed. And when you don’t see something, you don’t clean it. Right?
Whether you like it or not, our bad habits can transfer tons of germs and bacteria to our laptops the minute we put our fingers on the keyboard.
Have you washed your hands after eating or cuddling your pet? I bet you forgot. If you pay attention to your daily habits, you will see how much dirt you are transferring to your LT keyboards.
And, since germs are invisible to our human eye, they are building up on your computer making you their potential victim.
An article in Daily Mail has elaborated what we are actually touching. Can you imagine the magnitude of it? After reading it, you will become clean LT freak, believe me.
There you can find several types of bacteria, including bacilli, gram-positive cocci, gram-positive rods and gram-negative rods. Keyboard can harbor over 20,000 times more bacteria than a toilet bowl…can you imagine that??
2.Dust And LT
As dust is something you can’t avoid, and we have to clean it for more than once per day, it can also built up in our precious LT too and cause some more damage. Overheating can make damage on the hardware inside, therefore cleaning fans and vents is more than necessary.
Power down your LT and remove the battery. In case your laptop has a bottom panel, unscrew it and use a can of compressed air to blow the fans, clearing them of built dust.
In case you can’t open your laptop, point the can of compressed air at the cooling vents and do the same thing. But,I have to mention you should be careful not to use too much pressure, which could damage the fans. You can instead, shoot some short bursts and do it from different angles into the laptop.
This is a deep clean and you only need to do it once or twice a month. And if you have an older one, you might have to do it more frequently.
If you are not comfortable and skilled enough to do this, take it to a professional computer service to do it for you.
3.Clean It To Preserve LT From Overheating
Keeping the dust out from the vents and fans, will make your battery life to stay in shape, but, before you do anything on your own, check the instruction manual before you take your laptop apart, and make sure you are not violating the warranty you have for it.
Why cleaning is necessary? Because when your laptop overheats, it works much harder trying to achieve the maximum capacity it has.
Fans are running at full capacity to keep the hardware cool, and it may drain your battery much faster than usual.
4.Overheating And Slower LT
When you LT is overheating, it may slow down in order to cool off by reducing its performance. Do some investment and clean LT keyboard every other week, and the fans at least once a month as earlier written. You can also run check other issues why your LT is running slow and fix them accordingly.
If you are one of those who works and eat over the LT – big mistake. Eating and drinking, not to mention spilling sugary drinks-can harm your keys. You will be forced to open the keyboard and clean it out.
And when you open it, you’ll be surprised to see your whole menu under it: food crumbs, Coke, dust and grime. Now you see why your keyboard is all clogged and sticky?
Dirt in your keyboard can slow down your average typing words per minute, but it can also cause some more hardware damage.
Who wants to work over germ residue? No one. By using a can of compressed air as you are clearing the fans, you can also clear out the dust, food particles and crumbs stuck in the sides of the keys.
6.Double Work Places – Double The Germs
I bet you are on your LT all day- at work and at home. And if you use the same LT in both places, than it is exposed to double trouble: both dirt and germs. Twice more.
This is one more reason to clean your laptop more often, because you have no idea what kind of germs could be lurking above and beneath the keys and screen.
7.Why Losing Money Over Negligence?
It is vital for your LT to be cleaned on a regular basis. That includes maintenance of its internal components if you want to preserve its shelf life.
By doing so, you will save you thousands of dollars in changing spare parts and software updates, and you won’t need any new LT soon.
What to say, we often forget how our everyday working environment can become home to some potentially nasty germs.
Therefore, get your anti-bacterial hand-wash wipes ready, and don’t be cheap on yours and your LT health.
