How To Age Gracefully
As years go by and you start noticing changes on your looks, you immediate start thinking what you should do to preserve your youthful look as long as possible and age gracefully.
Accepting the fact that we are all aging can be hard some time, but we need to realize that we need to do everything in our power to preserve our health and looks especially.
Wrinkled skin, gray hair, hormonal dis-balance, all sorts of aches and pains will be part of our lives anyway, but if there is something we can do to slow them down – we sure must DO something about it!
We were talking to many older women from our surroundings, and we filtered what they do to maintain that graceful look they still have.
1.Getting Regular Facial
It is really important to have it at least once a month, as spa saloons are always topped up with the latest beauty skin products that simply make wonders.
But, they can be also expensive and you’ll have to find another way to pamper yourself.
You can always cleanse and moisturize your skin with the beauty products you already use, throw a few good masks on your skin, and stick to the ones that works perfectly for you.
Avoid using regular soaps as they can dry your skin even more.
Instead, use gentle cleanser, but don’t use alcohol based toners. Find the ones suitable for your skin type and make sure you always moisturize at the end of the process.
If you want to age gracefully and have smooth looking skin – you need to pay more attention to yourself.
Over the years, hair is thinning as hormones play big role here. The quality of the hair changes – unfortunately. It becomes more dry and coarser in texture.
Use deep conditioning treatments, or you can make hair masks on your own. Give your hair that shine it deserves.
Blow drying is damaging hair, but, since you have to do it, invest in a good blow-dryer product which is not damaging the hair. There are plenty on the market you can choose from.
At summertime, leave your hair to dry naturally and spare it from all chemicals involved.
Let it breathe for a while.
3. Nurture Your Hands
Hands are always showing your age, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t preserve their looks. Always use a good moisturizing hand cream.
Occasionally, you can exfoliate them by making your own home mix: sea salt and lemon juice.
You can brighten them all over again and of course, when you finish with 1 min scrub with a gentle toothbrush, put a good cream on them and let them sparkle again.
Feel the softness.
4. Eyebrows In Shape
Always keep them in good shape and check them regularly. Well-groomed and shaped eyebrows are framing your face and draws attention to your eyes.
If you want to age gracefully, it means you need to pamper every single detail, in and out of your body. Looking clean and neat is showing people that you care and love yourself.
Keep doing it!
5. Don’t Wear Tons Of Makeup
Less is always more. Looking good doesn’t mean you have to put some warrior colors on.
As we age skin loosens, and putting more make up will show it even more. Having less make up, shading and framing your eyes in a more subtle way, with give you that youthful look you want to preserve and express.
Make an experiment.
Do both styles: wear more and less make up (while at home), and see what we are talking about. You can always ask your in-homes how do you look in both styles and see what they will tell you.
Remember, less is always more.
And not to mention how elegant and sophisticated you’ll look. Combine it with good outfit – and there you go.
You are chic.
6. Experiment With Dressing Styles
Always try to look elegant and minimalist.
A good piece of jewelry, simple hat, bracelet or ring, will just add up some flair on you. Always dress smart and not shapeless.
Don’t buy clothes that will make you look older than you really are.
Let your clothes follow your curves, but it doesn’t mean they need to be too tight. Your clothes needs to be age proper.
Tailored and clean lines always look sharper. Not only you will look better, but you’ll have more confidence wearing them.
Be like a star.
Shine through your personality and your looks will follow it.
7. What About Your Neckline
A neckline always depends from the shape of your face, length and neck shape, hairstyle and shoulder structure. If you want to achieve thinner and taller look, a classic V-neck with or without a collar will do.
Wearing V-neck with a collar, distracts attention from your neck to your face, putting your face in spotlight.
You can try this while shopping and decide whether it works for you.
8. Colors and Accessorizes
In your outfit you can always pop a trendy color (but not too much). You want to look modern and not outdated. You can always show your personality with few accessories.
Whether it is a scarf, or a bag, they can accomplish the looks you are looking for.
Classic clothes have been chic always, and you can accent them with a dash of accessory you have. You will instantly keep the look modern and fresh, so you can maintain a relevant and youthful appearance.
After all, it’s really not about the age, but about sophistication—classic neutral colors are always chic and modern, no matter how old you are.
9. Find Comfortable Shoes
This doesn’t mean you need to buy orthopedic ones (as most older women do). Everybody is commfortable in different shoe types.
Some are still good with heels, and some like flat shoes – with or without small heels.
It’s always worth trying different footwear brands to find the shoes that are most stylish and comfortable for your particular foot.
Buy shoes if you are only comfortable in them – not because they are trendy!
10. Lip Color
The more natural color – the better. Red lips won’t give you what you are looking for, but slightly pinkish, will add that youthful look you are looking for.
Also, you can choose a gloss instead of a matte lipstick for more fullness and shine. Still, you can schedule one day to go to the nearest mall, and let make up professional to “work you up” there.
You’ll both work it out and find what is most suitable for you.
And of course, treat yourself some new make up, and ditch the old one.
11. Blushing The Cheeks
Applying a blush correctly is something you need to learn. If you want create a high cheek-boned look, placing blush under cheeks will make you look too bony.
You should place it high on the apples of the cheeks, and use a big fluffy powder brush to apply it in a nice natural flush.
Use rosy tones as they appear to be more natural.
12. Play With The Nails
A good nail polish always make your hands look younger. French manicure will always give you that polite and sophisticated look.
But, if you want to experiment – whats holding you?
Any rules for nails?
There are no rules. Just have fun, as nails today have become new accessorize.
Whatever you are comfortable – do it, but don’t exaggerate!
You can still age gracefully and look youthful.
If you have a long hair, and you still don’t want to cut it shorter, you can always do layers. Some women feel attached to the length of their hair, because they think it makes them look younger.
But in fact, it just hangs out and doesn’t do anything to flatter them. A long and heavy hair really pulls down the face.
Bu adding some layers , you’ll add some texture to frame the face that will take years off. You can choose to darken your hair, or put few highlights to make it more vibrant.
Get a modern cut and take every compliment you can.
You’ll love the new you!
Also, if you are up to having bangs – be careful. Maybe they won’t suite your face. While trying to achieve younger look, you may appear older looking.
Bangs are not for everyone.
Concealing thin hair
If you have thin hair, your hairstylist should give you a haircut that brings up the volume. There are also many hair products you can use for the matter.

Eat protein food and work those muscles.
