We all surf through life the way we think we should, but at certain point we find ourselves having regrets of things un-done.
Unfortunately, wisdom comes with aging, and we all regret of not having wisdom in our early stages in life.
But, there’s nothing you can do about it other then pursuing things you want to, or experience them in this lifetime given to you.
Many people stay in unfulfilling careers, unhappy relationships, don’t travel, don’t tell people how much they care and they all hide behind the real truth, scared of being judged and criticized from people.
Well, there’s no more time to play hide and seek.
Do things that matters the most, otherwise you’ll find yourself regretting and saying this to yourself:
1. I wish I lived life more true to myself
This has always been the most common regret of all. When people look back at the end of the finish line, they realize how many dreams have gone unfulfilled.
Regrets.. oh regrets…
Lack of courage, means or other things may have postponed their dreams, but most of them are their own set obstacles.
It is too bad and sad people realize this before leaving this world.
2. I wish I could’ve expressed more of my feelings
There are certain reasons, why people stop expressing feelings. Pain in their soul caused by people, friends or family is usually the main reason.
How to forgive someone hurting you…you should, but it is so damn hard…
If you have the strength to set this right – do it, otherwise you’ll find yourself with so many regrets dealing with until the end of your life.
3. I wish I could stay in touch more with my friends
Life drives us in so many directions and it is really difficult to maintain everything, and to pay attention to all the things that matters.
Focusing to family usually put friends in a second place, but this is something you shouldn’t allow to happen.
Stay in touch with everybody as much as you can. A good friend talk is irreplaceable. Friends are bonds that keeps you remembering who you are, and where you came from.
Keep in touch with them and remember the good times spent together.
True friends are like jewels, so you better keep them
4. If only I could let myself being happier
This is the most common sentence for empaths. They are so busy making other people happy, they usually forget their own happiness.
Dear empaths, it is perfectly OK if you put yourself in first place once in a while. It is not selfish – it is how you express love towards yourself.
Be happy and do things that makes YOU happy – otherwise you’ll end up falling into this category – regretting for not letting yourself being happier.
5. If only I’ve spent more time with people I love
Don’t let time to slip away. Always find some time to spend it with people you love and care about.
Time is irreversible, so you better use it as much as you can.
6. If only I’ve learned to worry less
Living with worries became a major part of our lives, but you must know it isn’t healthy to live with them all the time.
Yes, you worry about your kids, your job, yours and their future, finances, mortgage….there are so many things going through your mind.
It is hard to distract from all of this, but at least try to lower this influence if possible…
7. I wish I could learn forgiveness
This is the toughest part. Forgiving can be so hard when harm is done to you, and it is so tough to bear the disappointments following.
You should understand that people have different consciousness development stages, and you can’t expect everybody to behave in a good manner.
Therefore, whatever is bothering you, speak up and unload yourself rather than keeping bad “blood” within.
Clear the air no matter how hard the truth is.
Confront and resolve. It doesn’t matter how will you be understood.
Speak the truth no matter what.
Don’t let it suffocate you.
Set yourself free!
8. I should’ve stood up for myself more
If you were always walking on a border line, you surely will regret it. Stand up for yourself and fight for what you believe.
Don’t get pushed around by ruthless people. Fight back and confront whatever is in your way.
Believe me, people will start appreciating you more.
9. If only I didn’t spend so much of my body and mental strength overworking
Work, work, work…have you not know anything better?
Why overworking so much?
Somebody will thank you for that? Your boss surely won’t – neither your family.
Don’t be the “donkey” carrying everything on your shoulders.
Loosen up, take a break, look around and breathe deeply.
Life is happening all around you…why missed it when you can grasp it ?
Slow down, live your life as you have always wanted and don’t spend your entire life working.
Free your mind and set your soul free from these chains and simply…
10. I was avoiding to face my fears
Do you know when facing fears they melt away?
Face them and fears will fear you instead…they’ll vanish and you’ll become much stronger and determined in everything you do.
Don’t let them slow you down.
Step boldly and don’t fear of anything!
You are the master.
11. I didn’t follow my passion
There are many reasons why people don’t follow their passion. Some, don’t have the courage to do it, and some don’t have finances to follow their dreams.
However, you can make your passion as a hobby in case it can’t be your prime way of earning for a living. Making it as a hobby can be more fulfilling for some, so don’t hesitate.
It isn’t too late to follow some of your dreams.
Pursue them…otherwise you’ll regret it!
12. If only I could’ve traveled more
Today, young people have all the means to travel cheap. Cheap flights, last minute reservations, couch-surfing… the world is handed at their palms.
For elders…well, if it wasn’t for the finances, then they’ve been their own obstacles. Choosing other things, rather then traveling.
But, it is not too late. If possible, travel as much as you can.
Live through new experiences, meet new people and cultures to see that we are all the same.
We all love, hate, get angry, get envy, have sadness, sorrow and happiness, we all know how to smile and argue, as we are all people of this Planet and no matter the color of our skin…WE ARE ALL HUMANS!
What to say as a closure?
Do and make things you’ve always wanted to do.
Aging comes quickly, so don’t get to the end of the road having so many things to regret for…
